Profile: Neil Ever Osborne

Neil Ever Osborne is a Canadian photojournalist, filmmaker, and visual artist.

Neil is an Explorer with National Geographic Society and a regular contributor to Smithsonian magazine, World Wildlife Fund Magazine, and The Weather Network’s emergent climate change initiative. Neil is also a Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers, of The Explorers Club, and of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. He earned his PhD in Environmental Studies from York University.

Neil’s documentary approach broadly examines the causes and impacts of climate change, as well as the solutions that will mitigate the crisis. This approach is depicted in works on deforestation in Borneo, polar bears on the sea ice in the Arctic, and offshore wind power on the American Eastern Seaboard.

In this pursuit, he focuses his lens on stories about the enduring spirit of humanity and the resiliency of nature.

When not in the field on assignment, he is based out of his studio in Toronto, Ontario.
